In the Record today, a study was published (here) with 30% of Scottish youth not considering a parent as a role model. 1700 young people took part in the survey and 62% thought joining a gang was a way to find a sense of identity.
CABOT (Challenging Antisocial Behaviour Together incorporating Communities Against Knife Crime ) is a voluntary organisation, we listen, signpost and support people living with antisocial behaviour.
Our office is based in Bristol.
Our officers are all volunteers and have diverse skills bases including the criminal justice system, customer service, local authority and mental health work.
Our organisation is supported by Avon and Somerset Police, Bristol City Council and Safer Bristol Partnership.
We also have a tenant rep, who will help with local authority housing issues in confidence.
We are also taking a proactive stance against knife crime, and would encourage everybody to do the same in a safe and lawful manner. By joining our voices together as a community, we have more chance of being heard than a lone voice shouting in the wind.
